After Tracy submitted an update to her college’s alumni magazine about how she and her cat Roger are a registered therapy team with Pet Partners, she received an unexpected email from an old college roommate. The article detailed their work with Hospice of the Valley, in Phoenix, AZ. Her roommate was excited to hear that they participated in this type of volunteer work and invited Roger and Tracy to guest lecture in her class on death and dying.
On March 19, 2018, through web conferencing, Tracy and Roger presented to students at the University of New Hampshire about Pet Partners. They explained the difference between service animals, emotional support animals and therapy animals but also discussed the magic of the human-animal bond for those in the end stages of life, giving examples from their volunteer experience.
Thank you Tracy and Roger for your dedication to hospice volunteer work and for all you do for Pet Partners!
